If you’ve arrived to class more than 15 minutes early, hang tight, sister. We’re inside working our magic to create the most delicious, safe, and clean sensory experience for you.
We open the doors 15 minutes before class begins and lock them again 2 minutes after the official start time. This ensures punctuality, respect of everyone’s time, and the security of everyone’s bodies and belongings.
We know that delays happen and sometimes can’t be helped. It’s always worth a shot to text us (843-920-2540) if you know you’re running behind schedule. If class hasn’t started yet and we’re still at the front desk, able to see your text come in, we’ll do our best to accommodate your late arrival – but we can’t promise we’ll catch the message in time if we’re busy tending to other students.
If you know you need to cancel your class, please do so at least 12 hours beforehand to avoid paying a late cancellation fee. If you have booked through our website, you can access your account and make changes here or via the Momence app. All class confirmation emails also include login links. Please note, if you no show, you will lose your class credit altogether.
Class Etiquette
We all want to feel safe, respected, and welcome in the studio. Fulfilling that collective desire requires that everyone be on the same page and same team. Here’s how you can help make that possible:
Bring your fire along with your heart and check your “good girl” at the door. The more you give yourself permission to take up space unapologetically, be playful, make a mess on purpose, and remove all pressure to perform, get anything right, or rescue yourself or anyone else from feeling any “bad feelings”, the more you give others permission to do the same – and we can all be liberated from shame and blame patterns that bleed us out energetically – and reclaim our full aliveness and creative power.
Be punctual. See above for our door policy and help us protect and respect our time together. It matters.
Focus: At the start of class, when the teacher begins talking, get quiet. Turn your attention to her immediately and listen to every word. They matter.
Whatever is alive in you when you show up to class – acknowledge it – and give it what it wants. Let it have its life in you. This is not about performing, but attuning to both the music and what wants to be expressed from within. This is your chance to move energy, feel the feelings that want attention, emote, nourish your body and soul, stoke your fire, hunt for pleasure, and take care of the lovable, vulnerable Inner Child that will forever be a part of you.
Self-Contain: Drawing upon your own masculine energy, offer self-containment by committing to deep inner listening and exquisite self-care and -respect for the duration of class. This is what will create safety from the inside, so you can play within your comfort zone and explore and expand its edges over time – while avoiding accidental self-traumatization by pushing yourself too far, too fast, too soon.
Do your part as a contributor: Let the Invocation and Benediction (recited aloud at the start and end of class) set the intentions, commitments, and boundaries, and create the collective container. Do your part as a contributor and keeper of the Sisterhood.
